Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using Spreedy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Spreedy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Spreedy Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the App and related services.

2. Description of Service

Spreedy is a speed reading application that provides:

  • RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) technology for accelerated reading
  • AI-powered narration and text-to-speech features
  • Document import and library management (EPUB, PDF, web articles)
  • Reading analytics and progress tracking
  • Cross-device synchronization

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App.

4. Subscription and Billing

4.1 Subscription Plans

Spreedy offers the following subscription options:

  • Weekly: Includes 20 AI Credits, Unlimited WPM, and Device Sync
  • Monthly: Includes 80 AI Credits and all Pro Features
  • Yearly: Best value with significant savings, includes 100 AI Credits/month and Priority Support

4.2 Payment Terms

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis
  • Payment is processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Prices are subject to change with notice
  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • No refund is provided for partial billing periods
  • Your account reverts to free tier features

5. AI Credits

AI Credits are used for AI-powered features such as text-to-speech narration. Credits:

  • Are allocated based on your subscription plan
  • Accumulate and roll over to subsequent billing periods as long as your subscription remains active
  • Cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload or share copyrighted content you don't have rights to
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials or credits
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated systems to access the App

7. Content Ownership

7.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you import into the App. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content for the purpose of providing the Service.

7.2 Our Content

The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Spreedy Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without permission.

7.3 Content Source and Public Domain

Public Domain Content: Some works offered in our App are public domain texts under the laws of the United States. These texts are not protected by U.S. copyright law.

Geographic Responsibility: Users are responsible for checking the copyright laws of their country. The App cannot be held responsible for local copyright infringements in the user's region.

7.4 AI Voice Services

AI Outputs: The App converts text to speech using artificial intelligence algorithms. No guarantee is provided regarding the accuracy or literary quality of the voiced content.

Usage Restrictions: Audio files generated by the App are for personal use only; they may not be redistributed for commercial purposes unless otherwise stated.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the last 12 months

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Spreedy Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Abuse the Service or other users

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
