Here's how to permanently delete your account and all associated data.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Spreedy account and all associated data directly from the app. Follow these steps:

Delete Account from the App

  1. Open Spreedy
    Launch the Spreedy app on your device.
  2. Go to Settings
    Tap on the profile icon or menu, then select "Settings."
  3. Navigate to Account
    Find and tap on "Account" or "Account Settings."
  4. Select Delete Account
    Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account."
  5. Confirm Deletion
    Read the warning message and confirm by entering your password or tapping "Delete Permanently."

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • Account Information: Email, password, and profile data
  • Reading Library: All imported books, articles, and documents
  • Reading Progress: Bookmarks, highlights, and current positions
  • Statistics: All reading analytics, WPM history, and streaks
  • Sync Data: Cloud-synced content across all devices
  • Preferences: App settings and customizations

Note: This action is irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

Before You Delete

Please consider the following before deleting your account:

  • Cancel Subscription First: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Please cancel through the App Store or Google Play before deleting.
  • Export Your Data: If you want to keep a record, export your reading statistics from Settings > Data > Export before deletion.

Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app or prefer to have us handle the deletion, you can request account deletion by email:

Data Deletion Request

Send an email to: spreedy.app@gmail.com

Please include:

  • Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  • The email address associated with your Spreedy account
  • Confirmation that you want to delete all data

We will process your request within 7 business days and send you a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.

Retention Period

After deletion:

  • Your data is immediately removed from active systems
  • Backup copies are purged within 30 days
  • Some anonymized analytics may be retained for service improvement
  • Legal records (e.g., transaction history) may be retained as required by law
